On a Clear Day You Can See Forever is Vincente Minnelli’s 1970 adaptation of the Alan Jay Lerner-Burton Lane musical with the same title. I love Minnelli’s movies and I generally love musicals so I had tons of fun watching it, but if you don’t … well, you can just browse through these screenshots.

 

It’s an entertaining flick that centres around Daisy Gamble played by Streisand, a kooky New York college student who seeks help of a psychiatrist (Yves Montand) to cure her cigarette addiction. He uses hypnosis as a part of his therapy, but accidentally taps into a regression where Daisy recalls a previous life as Melinda, a scandalous early 19th century English aristocrat.

 

Barbara was apparently pretty famous for her nails…
Oh, and Jack Nicholson is in this one, as well!

Along with all Minnelli's movies, I truly enjoyed beautiful, rich costumes and elaborated scenography (there’s always something interesting to look at in the humdrum settings like - doctor's office, apartment, classrooms).

And Barb is just adorable…
