Ok, so here we are…
I didn’t expect this c.i.l. to happen so 
soon, but I just kept discovering these
crazy wonderful things worth sharing.

 

First of all, Vulnicura, Björk’s ninth studio album is absolutely divine and I can not recommend it enough. I’ve been listening to it, night and day, since I got it, a week or so ago. It’s an incredible showpiece of heartbreak and vulnerability (hence Vulnicura). In case you’ve somehow missed her video for Lionsong, I’m going to post it here again.

 

 

Moving on…

 

Chef's Table is new documentary tv series that goes inside the lives and kitchens of six of the world’s
most renowned international chefs. It premieres exclusively on Netflix, April 26th.

 

I envy all of you who live in London, because “the familiar genius of English graphic art, Eric Ravilious is revealed as far
more complex and mysterious in this unmissable show of more than 80 of his watercolours”, in Dulwich Picture Gallery,

There is plethora of sheer amazingness at Julie Lansom site,

I’m really into Obus’s winter 2015 lookbook. Their knitwear is remarkable and I love those patterns,
but I particularly enjoyed the overall natural feel of it.

 

Julia, Child is a lovely little book for all those girls who enjoy spending time with their moms in a kitchen. “It’s a fictional
tale loosely inspired by the life and spirit of the very real Julia Child - a story that should be taken with a grain of salt and
a generous pat of butter.” Wonderful illustrations by Julie Morsad.

ONE HUNDRED SCENES OF KOBE

On the left, beautiful poster color drawings of Kobe,
the sixth largest city in Japan, with the 1000 year history as a
trading port between Japan and the Asian Continent, by Hide
Kawanishi (1894 - 1965), from his book "One Hundred Scenes
of Kobe".

 

These fascinating illustrations are scenes of the changing city, after the WWII, drawn mostly in a period between 1952 and 1953. Enchanted by Kawanishi's
“One Hundred Scenes of Kobe”, more than a half of a century later, Takayuki Kita haunted the Kobe for two years, chasing the locations of these scenes, one by one. These are his photos on the right, paired with Kawanishi’s drawings.

You can find all of the artwork from “One Hundred Scenes of Kobe" along with Mr Takayuki’s photos, commentaries (about locations, their importance, the exact years that photos and drawings were made) and google maps (yes!), on the official site of city of Kobe.

BTW – it is a surreal experience to compare these two views and see how and where the city has changed. Some of the things from Kawanishi’s drawings are completely gone.. but somehow, you can still sense the vibe of the location. Since I’m a romantic and a neat freak I picked those which resisted the change and kept their original shape.

me some. Yeah, I married the good guy.

 

In the meantime, I can go for some honey lavender sesame toast with bananas
(I’m warning you, it’s extra delicious).

Can we talk about Max Mara and how bloody fantastic their
 AW 15/16 collection was??

because this identity design for Van Gogh Museum, done by Amsterdam-based
Koeweiden Postma strikes a chord with me.

 

I loved the lettering in the opening credits of the last couple of movies that I watched.
