Oh, how I love these beautiful minimalist illustration by Olimpia Zagnoli for Wizard of Oz, “the first in a new series by Rockport Publishers pairing some of today’s most exciting illustrators and graphic artists with some of yesteryear’s most beloved books.”
The truth is, up until now I didn’t know you could do this much with the usage of (mainly) green, black and white. All the visual interpretations of Wizard of Oz were always glittery, flashy and extravagant. However, Olimpia’s work is a whole new ball game entirely, and it’s simply brilliant. Btw, I love her patterns, and I can imagine few of them on my shirt… just putting it out there.
