Bangkok based 56thStudio latest series “What happens in Buddhism stays in Buddhism” takes it’s cue from a story of a Buddhist monk who turned out to be a monumental crook.

Their project (for Illustrative Berlin 2013) aims to provoke doubts in putting blind faith in divine institutions via illustrated objects. Using familiar symbol, King of Spade, but replace the existing face with the face of Buddha commonly seen in Buddhist Arts. These screen printed lounge chairs sarcastically portray the business of faith and the marketing of spiritual institution in a tongue-in-cheek fashion.

CHARLOTTE SMITH

I had such a blast, floating through Charlotte Smith’s website.  I started my journey with her adorable paper sculptures that I discovered on Brown Paper Bag.

But then I stumbled upon Moonrise Kingdom gifs, and then some other gifs, and her delicate lettering , beautiful logos she created, and numerous other stuff. I’m telling you, there’s sooo much to love about her work. Charlotte Smith is a graphic designer based in Paris. She loves “anything that has to do with type or handlettering, flowers and pastel colors.” Check out her site, tumblr, dribble and instagram account.

MISSONI FW 14/15

.  .  .

Perfect. Just perfect.

I love campaigns shot by Viviane Sassen.
In Bloom crosses my mind. They are beautifully vibrant and special. Newest Missoni campaign for FW 14/15 is a whole another level of special. It’s perfect.

Puerto Rican model Joan Smalls poses for the new campaign in against the backdrop of a archaeological site which features colorful, surreal and almost futuristic set design reflecting the collection’s pops of vibrancy.

Missoni say the set-up transforms the model “into the adventurous character from a sci-fi cartoon or a Futurist figure in the style of Balla or Depero. This multifaceted model of femininity and elegance, simultaneously sinuous and angular, daring and ironic… conceiving a version of a world advanced in time: like a daydream in the year 2970 that symbolises the aspirations, energy and highly imaginative vitality of the Missoni language.”
